JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – In the final day of a nine-game road strech, the Falcons droped a douleheader to Carson-Newman, 6-5 and 6-4, Wednesday, in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
The two-game series was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 26 and Wednesday Mar. 27, but was altered to a doubleheader on Wednesday, due to rain.
The losses snap a seven-game road winning streak for the Falcons.
GAME 1 INFORMATION

In game one, the Falcons led 5-0 after five innings but gave up a trio of runs in the sixth and seventh innings, falling 6-5.
Montevallo scored in the top of the first inning on a pair of Eagle miscues to lead 2-0. After a pitchers duel for the next three innings, Montevallo added runs in the fifth to go ahead 4-0. Shortstop
Ethan Huddleston knoked his team leading seventh homer of the year top give UM the advantage.
In the sixth, the Falcons plated another run on a bases-loaded catchers interference call to make the lead 5-0.
Carson-Newman led off the bottom of the six with a single, double and a home run that trimmed UM's lead to 5-3.
The Eagles hit its second homer of the day in the sixth and walked it off, 6-5, on an RBI single.
GAME NOTES
- Montevallo scored five runs on six hits while CNU added six runs on 12 hits.
- Ethan Huddleston led UM as he went 1-for-3 with a two run homer, his seventh of the year.
- Seth Gurr struck out five through six innings pitched.
GAME 2 INFORMATION

Much like the first game, Montevallo took the lead first. In the second inning,
Jake O'Connell collected an RBI triple to put UM on top 1-0. Carson-Newman responded quickly with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead, 2-1.
Landon Leake registered an RBI in the fourth as he singled to left to even the score 2-2. Then, a single from
Christian Kallaher gave the lead back to UM, 3-2.
Much llike game one, the Eagle bats came alive in the fifth and a bases-clearing double scored three runs as Carson-Newman regained the lead, 5-3. An RBI single for the home side in the sixth made it 6-3 with just three outs to go for UM.
Connor Crowson led the inning off with a single and later scored on a groundout RBI with one out, to make it 6-4. UM was unable to cash in two more runs and left two runners on base, falling 6-4.

Montevallo will return home for a series with Valdosta State beginning Friday, Mar. 27, at 5 p.m.
