Montevallo, Ala. – Falcons' fourth quarter comeback falls short against Lee.
The Falcons came out for their HEADstrong game fired up and ready to go.
Claire Withington and
Ellery Shearer scored the first two goals of the game in the first 2:30 of the game. Lee got into the game with four unanswered goals for themselves.
Jenna Piazza scored her first goal of the game in the final minute of play to finalize the first quarter score at 3-4 in favor of the Flames.
The defense for both teams started strong, with the first goal not coming until the 10:10 mark from Lee. Shearer picked up a man-up goal before back-to-back goals from the Flames. Shearer finished up the Falcons' scoring for the period with another goal in the final 1:30, before Lee picked up their eighth goal of the game with 0:41 on the clock. The Falcons trailed going into halftime 5-8.
Piazza got back into the action at the start of the third, scoring her second goal of the game. A Flames goal split Piazza's and
Claire Withington's goals in the quarter. Lee scored three more before the buzzer sounded to end the period. Lee was leading 7-12.
A Lee goal in the first 1:30 of the period was all the Falcons needed to see to start a long run of their own. Piazza, Withington, and
Kiley Shea (2), teamed up for four goals in a row bringing the score withing two, before Lee scored the dagger in the final six minutes. Neither team was able to find the back of the net before the horn. The Falcons fell 11-14.

rd | UM came out the half ready to play, scoring the first goal of the quarter. One more Falcon goal was scored after Lee grabbed their first of the quarter. Lee scored three unanswered

th | The Flames scored the first goal of the period, before the Falcons scored four goals unanswered to bring the score within two. Lee picked up the final goal of the game at the 5:44 mark.
