MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Montevallo men's tennis bowed out of the Gulf South Conference Tournament after falling to second-seeded Valdosta State, 4-0.
The Falcons fell in the doubles matches after
Vittorio Noli and
Samuel Maia dropped the No. 3 doubles match, 6-0. The Blazers clinched the team point after topping
Philippe Zehender and
Simon Luigs, 6-3, in the second doubles match.
Valdosta State secured the match with a trio of wins in the singles matches after
Ryota Nakajima lost 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 6 singles match. Zehender dropped his final singles match 6-2, 6-1 to leave the Blazers just one point away from victory. Valdosta State secured the match after Noli fell 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 3 singles match.
The Falcons finished the 2024 season with a 7-12 overall record and a 3-6 mark in GSC action.
