ARKADELPHIA, Ar. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams are both defeated by Ouachita Baptist on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The women fell by a score of 55-146 while the men dropped their meet 54-147.
 
Despite the losses, the Falcons had three different times make it into the program record book as top-10 of the fastest times swam in UM history. Along with the times, Aleksei Kolesnikov and Petra Cajkas registered first place victories.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

• In the men's 50 yard free, Aleksei Kolesnikov won the event with a time of 21.85. Jimmy Franck would place in third with a time of 22.35.
• Petra Cajkas would win the women's 100 back with a time of 1:01.12. The time by Cajkas would be the ninth fastest in UM history.
• The tandem of Xena Zanders, Alexandria Morgan, Maja Krawczyk and Tabitha Nalepa would combine for the ninth fastest 200 free relay in program history with a time of 1:46.72.
• In the 400 medley relay, Petra Cajkas, Hanna Persson, Keara McGee and Cypris Wilkinson came in with a time of 4:05.41. The time would be the seventh fastest mark in Montevallo history.

The Falcons will next be in action on Thursday, Jan. 16 as they take on the Henderson State Reddies inside the Wells Natatorium. The meet is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
