MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women' swimming teams are set to take on Sewanee on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 11:00 a.m. The meet will take place inside the Fowler Center Natatorium on the campus of Sewanee.
Both the men's and women's teams will compete against Sewanee for the first time in program history. Last week, the Falcons were defeated by Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist. This will be the Falcons final meet before they compete in their first Conference Carolinas Championships on Wednesday, feb. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 22.
Against Ouachita Baptist,
Aleksei Kolesnikov placed first in the 50 free with a time of 21.85.
Jimmy Franck placed third for the Falcons with a time of 22.35. The women's team is coming off a loss against Henderson State where they were nearly edged out 85.5 to 107.5.
Alexandria Morgan swam the ninth fastest time in program history in the 1650 free with a time of 18:32.99.
Keara McGee placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.38.
The women's team also shined in relays with times of 1:52.93 in the 200 medley relay and 1:44.36 in the 200 free relay.
