Falcons Set to Travel to Lee and Trevecca

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer heads out to close out a four-game road trip with meetings at Lee and Trevecca this week.

The Falcons head into the final road trip of the conference schedule with an 8-2-1 overall record and a 7-0-1 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 1-2 mark in nonconference action. Montevallo's conference season opened with five consecutive clean sheets to shoot to the top of the league standings. The Falcons allowed the first goal from a conference opponent in a 7-2 win over Union on Oct. 4. Last week, Montevallo drew its first tie of the season in a 0-0 draw at Mississippi College on Oct. 8. Most recently, Montevallo topped Delta State, 1-0, behind a late goal from Katelynn Kott. Through 11 games, Montevallo has tallied 23 goals for the third-best mark in the GSC with a league-high 19 assists. The Falcons' defense has allowed just seven goals on the season for the fourth-lowest mark in the GSC while recording eight shutouts for the second-most in the conference. Individually, Lainey Farabaugh leads the team with the fourth-most goals in the conference at six while Morgan Goehring leads the team and the league with seven assists while finding four goals for a total of  15 points. In the goal, Ciara Duff, a two-time GSC goalkeeper of the week, has recorded six shutouts through six starts with a total of 18 saves while splitting time with Jolie Cazale who has 19 saves in four starts with a pair of clean sheets.
 
Lee heads into Wednesday's meeting with Montevallo with a 6-2-2 record and a 4-2-1 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 2-0-1 record in nonconference action. The Lady Flames dropped the conference opener to Alabama Huntsville before going on a three-game win streak. Lee then dropped a meeting with West Florida, 1-0, on Oct. 3 before tying with Spring Hill, 0-0, on Oct. 5. Most recently, Lee topped Trevecca, 2-0, on Oct. 10. Through 10 games, the Lady Flames have scored 18 goals on the season with a total of 129 shots while allowing just eight goals with four clean sheets on the season. Individually, Alaysia Nye leads Lee with seven goals and one assist for a total of 15 points while Megan Davis leads the team with five assists. In goal, Abby Whitcomb has played every minute this season with 24 saves and just eight goals allowed with five shutouts on the season.
 
Trevecca heads into the weekend with a 3-5-3 record and a 1-3-3 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 2-2 mark in nonconference play before opening the conference season with a 0-0 tie against West Alabama. The Trojans then fell to UAH before picking up a pair of ties on the road before adding a win over Spring Hill on Oct. 3. Last week, TNU fell to West Florida and Lee on the road. Through 11 games, TNU has tallied a total of 10 goals on 11.3 shots per game while allowing 17 goals on 11.0 shots per game with a trio of shutouts on the season. Individually, Anna Farrell and Noelle Garcia lead the team with two goals apiece while Farrell leads the team with a pair of assists. Bailie Fiore has spent 900 minutes in goal with 36 saves and just 13 goals allowed and a trio of shutouts on the season.
