MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo volleyball team continues Gulf South Conference play this weekend with a challenging road swing against No. 17 West Florida and Valdosta State. The Falcons face the Argonauts in Pensacola on Friday at 6 p.m. before closing the trip at Valdosta State on Saturday at 12 p.m.

The matchups conclude a three-match road stretch for Montevallo, which opened Tuesday at Mississippi College. Despite the midweek setback, the Falcons remain one of the league's top defensive squads, leading the GSC with 118.0 total blocks. Individually, Danielle Greene has been a force at the net, pacing the conference with 67.0 blocks.
West Florida enters the weekend ranked No. 17 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Top 25 Poll with a 10-3 overall record and a 4-0 mark in GSC play. The Argonauts lead the conference in several statistical categories, including opponent hitting percentage (.157), kills per set (13.91), and opponent service aces (47). Aniston Cochran and Kumara Flanagain power the offense with 101 kills each, while 2024 GSC Player of the Year Gabi Moultron directs the attack and ranks second in the league with 447 assists. Defensively, Madalyn Mire leads the back row with 227 digs, and Magdalena Vongkasemsiri highlights the Argos' front-line presence with a team-best 25.0 blocks.
Valdosta State comes into the weekend at 4-9 overall with a 3-1 conference record, having rattled off three straight GSC sweeps after dropping its opener to West Florida. The Blazers are led offensively by Katie Callenberger, who has recorded 85 kills along with 29.0 blocks. Setter Avery Mullins directs the VSU attack with a team-high 258 assists.
