MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's soccer team hits the road for the final time in the regular season, facing off against Christian Brothers (Oct. 24) and Union (Oct. 26).
OFFICIAL SCHEDULE
Montevallo enters the week with a 4-3-5 overall record and a 3-1-3 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Falcons dropped its first GSC contest of the season last week, falling to AUM, 4-0, on Friday.
On the season,
Dominic Kienzle leads the team and is tied for first in the GSC in goals (ten) and points (22), while holding an outright lead in game-winning goals (four) in the league.
Tomas Prieto and Seth Action have each recorded seven points this season, with Prieto earning three goals and one assist, while Acton has notched two goals and three assists.
Andre Etcheverry has played in and started all 12 games in goal for the Falcons. The junior keeper has recorded 41 saves and four shutouts, while allowing 18 goals and facing 145 shots total.
Christian Brothers enters the week with an 8-2-2 overall record and a 5-0-2 mark in GSC play. The Bucs picked up four points in league play last week, capturing a 2-0 win at Spring Hill and a 2-2 draw at West Florida. Juan Minguez Malonda leads the way for the Bucs with a team leading five goals and 12 points. Sebastian Torka has started ten games in goal for the Bucs (7-1-2) and has recorded 23 saves, with ten goals against.
Union enters the week with a 3-5-4 overall record and a 2-4-1 mark in GSC play. The Bulldogs split a pair of contests last week, falling to No. 19 West Florida, 1-0, and defeating Spring Hill 5-2. Noel Pataki leads the way for Union with four goals and nine points. Patrick Schott has started 11 games in goal for the Bulldogs (2-4-4) and has recorded 52 saves, with 19 goals against.
