BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference has announced its 2025-26 Gulf South Conference Preseason Selections with Montevallo tabbed at the top of the league with a pair of players on the Preseason All-Conference squad.

Montevallo was tabbed as the league's favorite with a total of 114 points and six first-place votes after posting a 20-11 record a season ago with a 15-7 mark in league play for the No. 2 seed in the 2025 GSC Tournament. The Falcons' first-place selection marks the highest mark during the Anthony Komara tenure.
 
The Preseason All-Conference team featured a pair of Falcons in Brandon Fussell and Jaylen Curry. Fussell's 2024-25 season featured a team-high 18.1 points per game on a 47.4 percent clip from the field while earning a 2025 Second Team All-GSC award, a 2025 GSC Winter All-Academic honor and a 2025 GSC All-Tournament team. Curry's 2024-25 campaign saw an average of 16.4 points per game on a 46.6 percent shooting mark with an average of 6.0 rebounds per game. The senior also tallied a 2025 Second Team All-GSC honor a season ago.
 
Finally, Sam Duskin was named to the 2025 GSC Newcomer Watchlist in the Air Force Academy transfer's first season in the Gulf South. The sophomore transfer joins Montevallo's roster after spending his freshman season at the Air Force Academy where he appeared in 19 games with eight starts. In his time in Colorado Springs, Colo., Duskin tallied a 35.9-percent shooting clip with a .400 mark from long range in his 10.4 minutes per game.
 
The Falcons will open the season on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. with a trip to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to take on Barry for the first of two games in the GSC/SSC Crossover Classic.
