Box Score COLUMBUS, Ga. – Montevallo fell to Columbus State, 5-0, on Wednesday night.
 
The Cougars fired the first shot of the game early forcing 
Ciara Duff to make her first save of the night in the fourth minute. Just five minutes later, Duff's second save of the game kept the game knotted at 0-0. 
Morgan Goehring fired the Falcons' first shot of the game in the 19
th minute but missed the mark. Columbus State would draw first blood and take a 1-0 lead in the 23
rd minute. Duff added a third save in the 26
th minute before the game shifted to a battle for possession over the next 10 minutes. CSU would extend its lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 36
th minute and would hold its lead heading into the half.
 
CSU added a third goal to its lead early in the second half before 
Isabel Dillehay fired Montevallo's first shot on goal of the night in the 53
rd minute. Just a minute later, the Cougars tallied fourth goal. In the 64
th minute, CSU would add to its lead to take a 5-0 advantage over Montevallo. In the 78
th minute, 
Elise Marquardt would look to beat the keeper but was denied before 
Tessa Harrington and 
Janelle Torres fired shots on goal in the 82
nd and 84
th minutes, respectively. CSU would hold its lead for the final six minutes to take a 5-0 win over Montevallo.
