MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo volleyball team returns home to Central State Bank Arena this weekend for a pair of important Gulf South Conference matchups. The Falcons open the homestand against Valdosta State on Friday at 6:00 p.m. before closing the weekend with a Saturday showdown against No. 16 West Florida at 2:00 p.m for Community Day.

Montevallo enters Friday's matchup with a 9-14 overall record and a 6-7 mark in GSC play. The Falcons are currently tied for sixth in the conference standings with seven regular-season matches remaining. Senior middle blocker Danielle Greene continues to anchor Montevallo's front line, ranking second nationally in total blocks (124.0) this season.
Valdosta State (10-13, 9-5 GSC) visits Montevallo after falling 3-0 to No. 16 West Florida on Tuesday. The Blazers are led offensively by Asia Montagnani, who has tallied 180 kills in 23 matches. Avery Mullins directs the offense with 606 assists - fourth-most in the GSC - while Ava Young and Eimy Negron Domenech pace the defense with 54.0 total blocks and 322 digs, respectively.
West Florida (20-3, 13-0 GSC) enters the weekend ranked No. 16 in the latest AVCA Top 25. The Argonauts have won 13 straight matches and sit atop the conference standings. Kumara Flanagain leads UWF with 217 kills, while Gabi Moulton ranks second in the league with 841 assists. On defense, Madalyn Mire leads the team with 412 digs, and Magdalena Vongkasemsiri continues to be a key contributor at the net with 59.0 total blocks.
