MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's basketball team is set to host the Shorter Hawks on Saturday, before jumping into Gulf South Conference play next week.

Montevallo holds an overall record of 0-3, after falling in a tight battle against Talladega, 60-51, on Monday. In the contest, the freshman duo of Shalexia Little and Emily Mouser reached double figures, scoring 19 and 15, respectively. On the season, Little leads the team in scoring, averaging 19 points, while tying with Elyse Hughes for a team leading-six rebounds per game. Mouser holds a team leading 11 assists, while averaging 11.7 points per game.
Shorter holds an overall record of 2-2 and a 1-1 mark in Conference Carolinas. Last time out, the Hawks earned a 69-50 victory over Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday. On the season, Amiya Redus leads the way for the Hawks averaging 19.8 points, which included a 41-point performance against Flagler. Aijah Manning leads the way on the boards, averaging 11.5, while Chelsy Singleton has a team leading-15 assists.
