Trey Gregory Announced as Women's Soccer Head Coach

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Athletic Director Mark Richard has announced the promotion of Trey Gregory to Montevallo Women's Soccer Head Coach.

"We are excited for this new chapter of Montevallo Women's Soccer with Trey at the helm," said Richard. "Trey has proven himself to be a leader in his 10 years across both Montevallo soccer programs and we have full confidence in his coaching ability. He has the full support of the athletic department, and we wish him luck in his new role."

Gregory has spent the last two seasons as the Women's Soccer Associate Head Coach and has helped to lead the team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in each of the last two seasons. In his time as Associate Head Coach, Gregory has helped to lead Montevallo to a combined record of 27-13-5 with a Gulf South Conference record of 17-4-3. Each of his seasons with the women's soccer program saw Montevallo compete for the GSC title with back-to-back championship game appearances for Montevallo.

"I am truly honored to be part of such an incredible university," said Gregory. "Montevallo holds a special place in my heart and grateful for Mark Richard's belief in me leading this program and for the trust he, Dr. Roberson, and the administration have invested in us. Jake built an incredible program and laid a strong foundation, and I can't thank him enough for the support and friendship over the years. Maureen and I are blessed to continue to call Montevallo home and ready to start the next chapter. Falcon Footy Forever!"

Prior to his time with the women's team, Gregory joined the Falcons' staff in 2016 as an assistant coach for Montevallo men's soccer for eight seasons including two as the Associate Head Coach in his final seasons with the program. In his time with Montevallo Men's Soccer, Gregory coached a total of 13 All-GSC members and five All-South Region selections.

Before becoming a member of the Montevallo staff, Gregory spent one season as the assistant coach for the Bethany College women's soccer program in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Prior to his time at Bethany College, Gregory spent two years at Vestavia Hills Soccer Club as the head coach of both the Under-11 girls' team and the Under-14 girls' team. At the same time, he was part of the staff for Hoover Soccer Club where he coached the Under-12 and Under-13 girls' team while also leading the Under-15 boys' team.

Gregory played collegiately for the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2005-08 and was twice named as an All-Conference USA member as a second team selection in 2007 and a third team selection following his senior season in 2008 while adding a 2006 C-USA All-Tournament Team honor.

Gregory also played semi-professionally for the United Soccer League's Panama City Pirates in the Premier Development League in 2007.

Gregory received a bachelor's degree in philosophy with a minor in History from UAB in 2010.
