MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball closes the 2025 calendar year with a home meeting against Point on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 3 p.m.

Montevallo heads into the meeting a with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 3-2 record in the early nonconference schedule after picking up wins over Barry, Fisk, and Spring Hill. The Falcons opened conference play with a loss to Lee before opening up a four-game win streak with a 90-60 road win over Trevecca Nazarene on Dec. 6. Montevallo then returned home for a 63-60 win over Delta State on Dec. 11 before adding an 89-62 win over Mississippi College. The Falcons added a 75-54 win on the road at Christian Brothers on Dec. 18 before falling to Union, 67-63, in Montevallo's most recent outing.
The Falcons' offense averages 76.7 points per game on a 45.6-percent clip from the floor while shooting 33.6-percent from deep and 75.7-percent from the charity stripe. On the boards, Montevallo pulls down an average of 36.5 rebounds per game with an average of 8.3 offensive rebounds per game. The Falcons also hold a 1.3 assist to turnover ratio with an average of 16.2 assists per game and 12.5 turnovers. Defensively, Montevallo allows just 67.8 points per game on a 39.4-percent shooting from the floor and 32.1-percent from long range while forcing 15.5 turnovers per game on an average of 9.5 steals.
Derek Moore leads Montevallo with an average of 18.5 points per game on a 65.2-percent shooting mark while adding a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.
Brandon Fussell ranks second on the squad with an average of 14.3 points per game while adding a team-high 6.6 assists per game and 2.2 steals per game. Freshman
Devon McKinnon ranks third on the squad with 13.3 points per outing on a 36.6-percent mark from the floor while adding a 40.6-percent clip from long range.
Point heads into the New Year's Eve matchup with a 5-5 overall record after opening the season with a 73-71 win over Bryan before adding a 92-84 win over Columbia on Nov. 1. Point ended a three-game win streak to open the season with a 99-80 win over Voorhees University on Nov. 4. Point then dropped a meeting with Bryan on Nov. 8 before falling to life on Nov. 20. Point then picked up a 73-72 over Dalton State on Nov. 22 before falling to Talladega on Dec. 1 and picking up a win over Webber on Dec. 11. Most recently, Point dropped a meeting with Dalton State, 97-84, on Dec. 17.
Point averages 70.6 points per game on a 40.8-percent clip from the floor while adding a 31.6-percent mark from long range and a 73.9-percent mark from the charity stripe. On the boards, the Skyhawks average 32.9 rebounds per game with an average of 7.9 offensive boards per game. Point averages 12.1 assists per game while forcing 4.9 steals per game and 2.6 blocks per game.
Antwon Ferrell leads the teams with an average of 15.9 points per game on a 37.9-percent clip from the floor and a 79.8-percent mark from the stripe while leading the team with a 5.3 rebound per game average. Vince Graves ranks second on the team with an average of 14.0 points per game on a 44.9-percent clip from the floor and a 33.3-percent mark from long range while adding 4.4 rebounds per game.
