MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's basketball team welcomes in-state foe, Auburn Montgomery to Central State Bank Arena on Saturday evening.
So Far This Season..
Montevallo holds an overall record 10-12 and a 8-9 mark in GSC play. The Falcons opened the season in Montgomery, falling to No. 16 Nova Southeastern and Embry-Riddle in the GSC/SSC Challenge. The Falcons split the next two road contests, defeating Shorter 52-51 and falling to Spring Hill 78-69. UM closed non-conference play with a dominant 94-67 win over UT Southern at home.
The Falcons opened conference play with home wins over No. 15 Lee (67-59) and Trevecca Nazarene (57-40). Montevallo followed that up with a pair of road contests, falling to Delta State (61-59) and Mississippi College (58-48). Montevallo closed 2024 splitting a pair of games, earning an 82-79 double overtime victory over Christian Brothers, and falling to No. 17 Union 71-65. Montevallo opened the new year facing off against three in-state opponents. The Falcons fell to Auburn Montgomery (88-69) and Alabama Huntsville (67-61, OT), before defeating West Alabama 70-60. The Falcons split a pair of home contests, defeating Valdosta State in overtime 69-64 and falling to West Florida 70-67. Montevallo split its next two weekly conference series, defeating Trevecca Nazarene (56-43) and falling to Lee (76-53) on the road, while falling to Mississippi College (52-78) and defeating Delta State 50-48.
Last weekend, Montevallo fell to No. 17 Union and defeated Christian Brothers 80-69.
Ramie Reid led the way for Montevallo last week, averaging 19 points in 16.4 minutes, while shooting 77.8 percent from the floor.
Aubrey Sorrells picked up her ninth consecutive GSC Freshman of the Week award, conference officials announced Tuesday.
Montevallo is averaging 63.6 points per game, while shooting 38.8 percent from the floor, including a 29.3 percent clip from long range. Opponents are averaging 67.6 points, while shooting 42.8 percent from the floor with a 33.6 percent clip from distance. The Falcons are averaging 35.6 rebounds, 10.9 assists, and 7.6 steals.
On the season,
Aubrey Sorrells leads the team in scoring (12.5 ppg), total rebounds (108), field goals made (224), and blocks (18), while
Ramie Reid has the best field goal percentage on the team (.544).

AUM defeated Valdosta State (67-62), Lee (68-52), Trevecca Nazarene (67-60), and Delta State (67-59), before falling to Mississippi College (60-49).
The Warhawks split a pair of contests last weekend, defeating Christian Brothers 70-45, and falling to No. 17 Union 92-69.
AUM averages 65.7 points per game, compared to opponents 68.7 points. AUM shoots 42.7 percent from the field, with a 28.3 percent clip from long range. The Warhawks average 37.5 rebounds, 10.9 assists, and 3.3 steals.
Individually, Allasha Dudley leads the team and ranks second in the GSC in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game. Danielle Luckey leads the team and the entire GSC in rebounding (10 rpg) and blocks (51).

Since 1987, these two squads have faced off 46 times with Auburn Montgomery holding a 29-17 advantage. AUM earned an 88-69 victory in Montgomery earlier this season.
