MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams are set for the Conference Carolinas Championships which will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and continue until Saturday, Feb. 22. The meet will take place inside the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, North Carolina.
The Falcons will be competing in the Conference Carolinas Championships for the first time in program history as they made the transition to the new conference. The men's team will square off against Barton, Emmanuel, Converse, King, Chowan and Lees-McRae. The women's team will compete against UNC Pembroke, Emmanuel, Converse, King, Barton, Chowan and Lees-McRae.
The Montevallo men sport a record of 2-6 while the women come in at 4-5.
Aleksei Kolesnikov has been awesome for the Falcons this season as he has set the program record in the 50 free and 100 fly with times of 20.13 and 47.45.
Keara McGee set the program record this season in the 100 fly with a time of 56.04.
Alexandria Morgan has been impressive in her first season as a Falcon as she has earned Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month with a program record time of 10:41.16 in the 100 free.
The first day of the Swimming Championships on Wednesday, February 19 will feature just one session with the finals for the opening evening slated to get underway at 11:00 p.m.
The final three days of the championship will feature preliminaries starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the finals for the day beginning at 4:00 p.m. Conference Carolinas will honor its seniors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21.
The preliminaries and finals each day will be streamed live on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network at
ConferenceCarolinas.com/watch. Commentary will be provided for the finals each day, but the preliminaries will just be video with no sound. Conference Carolinas will also stream the senior festivities live on Friday, February 21.
