Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's basketball team closed the 2024-25 home slate this weekend, as the Falcons fell to Alabama Huntsville, 86-69, inside of Central State Bank Arena.

Four Falcons reached double figures including Lia Edwards (18), Anna Katherine Eastman (12), Ramie Reid (11), and Savannah Cook (11).

Ramie Reid earned the first field goal for the Falcons and Anna Katherine Eastman followed that with a triple as Montevallo led early, 5-4, at the 7:02 mark. The Chargers responded with a 9-0 run to take a, 14-5, lead with 4:16 left. Savannah Cook scored a pair of baskets in the next two minutes, but UAH extended its lead to, 20-10, at the 2:43 mark. After a UAH free throw, back-to-back baskets from Lia Edwards and Anna Katherine Eastman ended the first quarter, as UAH held a, 21-15 advantage.

The Chargers started the second quarter strong, opening with a 7-0 run, before Aubrey Sorrels cashed in on a free throw, as UAH led, 28-16, at the 7:31 mark. After UAH extended its lead to, 33-19, at the 4:56 mark, the Falcons began to chip away at the Charger lead. The Falcons outscored the Chargers 6-2 in the next two minutes, as an Edwards lay-in cut the deficit back to single digits, 35-27, with 2:07 left. Both teams traded baskets, with Edwards and Jerrilyn Richardson draining triples for UM, as UAH held a, 40-33, advantage, with 47 seconds left. The Chargers drained a three-pointer in the last second to take a, 43-33, lead into the break.

Montevallo opened the second half with back-to-back buckets from Reid and Elisa Saffold, cutting the deficit to, 43-38, at the 8:49 mark. After the Chargers stretched the lead back out to eight, Eastman hit a three-pointer, as UAH led, 47-42, with 7:10 left. Reid scored a jumper in the next minute, but an 11-2 UAH run put the Chargers ahead, 58-44, at the 4:52 mark. Reid hit a pair of free throws to halt the run and Eastman followed that up with a triple, as UAH led, 60-49, at the 4:04 mark. A jumper and a free throw from Reid would represent the only points scored by the Falcons in the final four minutes, as UAH took a, 66-52, lead into the fourth quarter.

UAH opened the fourth quarter with a pair of baskets, before Cook connected from long range for the Falcons, as UAH held a, 71-57, advantage at the 7:13 mark. After both teams traded buckets, a Charger and-one put UAH ahead, 76-59, with 4:54 left. Edwards responded with an and-one of her own and Cook fired a triple, as the Chargers held a, 80-65, advantage, with 2:52 left. Edwards added a pair of free throws and MaKayla Gordon got on the scoreboard in the final minutes, but the Chargers would ultimately take home the 86-69 victory.
