VALDOSTA, Ga. – Montevallo men's tennis opened the spring schedule with a 6-1 loss to Valdosta State on the road.
Valdosta State took the doubles point despite a 7-5 fight from
Dylan Kamel and
Luiz Brandao in the top doubles match.
Guilherme Gracioli and
Ryota Nakajima battled in the No. 3 doubles match but would fall, 6-3.
Gracioli tallied the lone singles win for the Falcons with a 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 win in the No. 4 singles match.
Gabriel Variano looked to spark a three-set comeback but dropped the No. 6 singles match 6-1, 6-4. Brandao fell in the No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-2, to secure the team victory for the Blazers.
Montevallo heads to Pensacola, Fla. to take on West Florida on Saturday, Feb. 8
