Falcons Fall to Lynn in Home Opener

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse falls to 1-2 on the season after dropping a meeting with Lynn, 21-6, on Friday evening.
 
The Fighting Knights jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Montevallo freshman Marin Lewis tallied her first career save at the 11:13 mark. Lewis added a second save before Lynn scored five unanswered goals to take an 8-0 lead with 2:36 left in the fist. Kiley Shea put the Falcons on the board with a free-position goal with 1:50 on the clock to send the game into the second with Montevallo trailing 8-1.
 
Lynn opened the second quarter with a pair of goals before Shea added a second to make the score 10-2 with the assist credited to Amber Lynch. With 10:28 on the clock, Isabel Dillehay recorded her first career save in her debut as a member of the women's lacrosse team. Following another Lynn goal, Ellery Shearer tallied her 15th goal of the season to cut the lead down to 11-3. With 5:03 left in the half, Lily Moats scored her first goal of 2025 before Lynn scored to send the game to the half with a 13-4 Lynn lead.
 
Shea completed her hat trick early in the second half before scoring a fourth to make the score 14-6 with 8:35 left in the third. Lewis tallied another save to her ledger with 7:47 on the clock. Lynn added a pair of goals to close the third with a 16-6 lead before Lewis added a sixth save to head into the fourth trailing by 10.
 
Lynn opened the final stanza with four unanswered goals to go up 20-6 at the 7:46 mark. With 3:51 left to play, Dillehay tallied a third save before Lynn scored the final goal of the night to hand Montevallo a 21-6 loss.
