VALDOSTA, Ga. – Montevallo women's tennis opens the spring schedule 1-0 after a 5-2 win over Valdosta State on Friday.
 
Montevallo took the doubles point with a 6-3 win from Klara Podskubkova and Claire Jaramba in the No. 2 match before Erika Friere and Latizia Bojara secured the opening point with a 6-2 in in the No. 3 match.
 
Podskubkova tallied the first Montevallo singles point with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win in the top slot before Elena Ondobo added a second singles point with a 6-3, 6-3 win in No. 3 singles. Johanna Kullman secured Montevallo's season-opening victory with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 comeback win in the fourth singles match. London Breedlove tallied the Falcons' final victory in the No. 5 match with a 6-0, 6-3, two-set win.
 
Montevallo heads to Pensacola, Fla. to take on West Florida on Saturday, Feb. 8
