MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo acrobatics and tumbling team secured its first home win in program history and second win in the inaugural season, as the Falcons took down East Texas Baptist 235.975-161.620.

Montevallo got off to a strong start, outscoring East Texas Baptist 33.30-23.85 in the compulsory event. In the acro heat, UM scored an 8.40, followed by consecutive 9.00+ performances in the pyramid and toss heats, with scores of 9.00 and 9.05.

The Falcons posted strong numbers in the acro event, with scores of 9.00 in heat one, 8.00 in heat two, and 8.90 in heat three. Montevallo won the acro event by a final score of 27.65-25.05.

Montevallo followed that up with another strong showing in the pyramid event. The Falcons posted scores of 8.85 in heat one, 9.30 in heat two, and 9.50 in heat three, as Montevallo outscored East Texas Baptist 27.65-25.05 in the pyramid event.

In the toss event, Montevallo posted scores of 8.60 in heat one, 8.15 in heat two, and 8.35 in heat three. The Falcons outscored the Tigers 25.10-21.15 to win the toss event.

Montevallo followed that up with a dominant win in the tumbling event, outscoring East Texas Baptist 47.725-33.250. Katie Quinn and Avery Grant opened the event with an 8.05 in the duo pass. Grant continued her strong showing, scoring a 9.35 in the aerial pass, which was the Falcons' highest score in the tumbling event. Quinn also continued to shine, scoring an 8.75 in the open pass. Rilyn McAllister added an 8.20 in the 6-Element Pass.

In the team event, Montevallo outscored East Texas Baptist 76.30-36.62.
