MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's lacrosse hosted Thomas More for a dominant 20-6 win on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Falcons drew first blood with a Carsyn Tinney free-position goal just two minutes into the contest before Thomas More tied the game with 9:48 left in the first. Freshman Asha Jamieson extended the Falcons' lead at the 6:11 mark before Ellery Shearer scored her first of four goals with 3:55 on the clock. The Saints cut the lead down to 3-2 at the 2:59 mark but the Falcons ended the quarter on a 3-0 run with goals from Tinney, Shearer and Mikaela Barbieri to take a 6-2 lead into the second.
 
To open the second, Claire Withington continued the Falcons' offensive onslaught with the seventh goal of the day before Kiley Shea's first of the day made the score 8-2 with 11:37 left in the half. Barbieri completed her hat trick with back-to-back Montevallo goals before senior Amber Lynch pushed the lead out to 11-2 with 9:02 remaining. Shearer added a second woman-up goal for UM at the 6:48 mark before capping the quarter with her third of the day to send the game into the half with Montevallo on top 15-2.
 
Montevallo's Chloe Norman added two goals to her ledger to open the second half and give Montevallo a 17-2 advantage. The Saints finally answered with 8:08 left in the third to cut the lead down to 14. Both Lily Moats and Ally Rich found the mark for the first time of the game to give the Falcons a 19-3 lead heading into the final quarter.
 
Thomas More scored a pair of unanswered goals midway through the fourth before Norman completed her hat trick with just 2:26 to play. The Saints scored the final goal of the day to give Montevallo its fifth win of the season.
