INDIANAPOLIS, In. – The University of Montevallo's Aleksei Kolesnikov wraps up the Falcons first day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships on Wednesday, Mar. 12.
 
In prelims, Kolesnikov broke his own school record of 19.99 as he swam a 19.90 in the 50 free. In his run, he swam 9.66 in the first 25 meters and the second 25 meters in 10.24 to place within the top 16 to qualify for finals.
 
In the nightcap, he followed up his record-breaking performance with a 14^th place finish in finals. Kolesnikov swam the 50 free in 20.03 as he swam the first 25 meters in 9.56, shaving off .10. The second 25 meters, he finished in 10.47. With the performance, the Montevallo junior earned three team points with more events ahead.
