JACKSON, Tenn. – The 2025 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Basketball All-South Region teams were announced on Thursday, with Aubrey Sorrells earning a spot on the second team.

Sorrells is the first Falcon to be named to the D2CCA All-South Region list in program history.

The Hamilton, Ala. native continues to rack up postseason recognition, after being named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year earlier this month.

Sorrells had an exceptional initial collegiate season, making history by breaking a GSC record with eleven Freshman of the Week awards this year. Sorrells also garnered the most conference weekly awards by any player in program history, and the most consecutive conference weekly awards by any player in program history and in the GSC (nine).

Sorrells concluded the 2024-25 season, averaging, 11.3 points and 5.6 rebounds which both rank top-20 in the GSC. The freshman led Montevallo in scoring and reached double figures in 18 games this season, while also recording three double-doubles.

Sorrells was solid defensively this season, with 21 blocks which ranks eighth in the GSC, and 26 steals on the season.

Five other GSC players were named on this list, including Lili Wilken (Alabama Huntsville), Mallory Hampton (Lee), Allasha Dudley (Auburn Montgomery), Olivia Lee (Union), and Hayley Johnson (Lee).

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
