CLINTON, S.C. – The University of Montevallo acrobatics and tumbling team falls in their meet against Division I Presbyterian by a score of 246.790-252.450 on Thursday, Mar. 27.
Despite falling to their Division I opponent, the Falcons were impressive at they set a season-high in multiple events and had their highest total score of the season at 246.790.
In the compulsory event, the Falcons put up a season-high of 36.45. In the tumbling heat, the team of
Camryn Myers,
Sarah Hunt,
Makayla Robinson,
Ally Torres,
Rilyn McAllister,
Raedyn Register,
Morgan Wright and
Katie Quinn scored an 8.40 in the tumbling heat which beats their previous high score of 8.10. They tied the Blue Hose in the event.
In the 6-element and 7-element, Montevallo tallied scores of 8.10 and 9.75. Both would be the highest in those events this season. Presbyterian outscored UM 28.15-26.65 while Montevallo's score is their highest in the acro event this season.
The Falcons won the pyramid event with a season-best score of 28.85. UM scored an impressive 9.55, 9.60 and 9.75. The Blue Hose would score a perfect 10.00 in the open pyramid, but the Falcons took advantage of Presbyterian's 6.80 in the synchronized heat.
Montevallo final season-high came in the toss event where they notched a 9.10 in the 450 salto, an 8.50 in the synchronized and an 8.80 in the open heat. The Blue Hose narrowly won the event 26.55-26.40.
In the tumbling event,
Katie Quinn and
Avery Grant set a season-high in the duo pass with an 8.550. In the quad pass, the team of
Kyla Krause,
Morgan Wright,
Rilyn McAllister and
Raedyn Register put up a season-high of 7.550. They would round out the event with 8.30 or higher in the aerial, 6-element and open pass.
In the team event, Montevallo earned 79.09 points compared to Presbyterian's 83.20.
