JACKSON, Tenn. – The Montevallo women's basketball team closed the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, falling to top-seeded Union in the Gulf South Conference Quarterfinals.
Elisa Saffold led the way for the Falcons scoring ten points and grabbing six boards.
Anna Katherine Eastman scored the first field goal for Montevallo, but a dominant opening quarter by Union put the Lady Bulldogs up, 22-2, at the end of the first quarter.
Savannah Cook earned the first field goal of the second quarter, draining a triple at 5:56.

Jerrilyn Richardson added free throws, but Union continued to push, extending its lead to, 47-8, at the end of the first half.
After Union scored the first five points of the third quarter,
Aubrey Sorrells responded with back-to-back buckets.
Elisa Saffold added a pair of jumpers in the next few minutes and
Ramie Reid cashed in on an and-one. Reid and Saffold scored in the final minutes of the third, and Makayla Gordon added a free throw, as Union took a, 68-25, lead at the end of the third quarter.
The Falcons showed fight in the fourth, as Saffold opened the quarter with back-to-back buckets. Cook drained a triple, while Sorrells and Reid scored down the stretch, but the Bulldogs ultimately took home the 87-38 victory.
