Falcons Wrap Up Inaugural Season in Tri-Meet Against No. 10 Saint Leo and Talladega

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo acrobatics and tumbling squad wraps up their 2025 season in their tri-meet against No. 10 Saint Leo and Talladega.
 
In the compulsory, the Falcons started off hot with an 8.70 in the acro heat. In the pyramid heat, UM earned a 9.70 which is their third consecutive competition receiving the score in that heat. In the toss and tumbling heat, the Falcons scored a 9.45 and an 8.00. Montevallo won the event as they outscored No. 10 Saint Leo and Talladega 35.85 to 32.05 and 21.40, respectively. This is the Falcons second highest score in the compulsory this season.
 
The Falcons put together scores of 9.05, 7.95 and 9.45 in the acro event. UM was outscored by the Lions 28.20-26.45, however Montevallo scored higher than Talladega's 18.40. The pyramid heat was strong for the Falcons as they set a season-high in the inversion heat at 9.65. The Falcons scored 9.30 and 9.55 in the synchronized and open for a score of 28.50 in the event to go into halftime with the lead over Saint Leo and Talladega.
 
Montevallo was great in the toss event with a total score of 26.25. They won the event as the Lions scored a 26.15 and the Tornadoes a 20.90. UM put up a season-high in the synchronized toss with an 8.75. Saint Leo took the lead after the tumbling event as they scored a 53.050 compared to Montevallo's 47.400 and Talladega's 43.350.
 
In the team routine, Montevallo earned an 80.50 which is their third score this season of 80.00 or higher in the event. Saint Leo narrowed out the Falcons in the event with an 82.19.
 
Saint Leo would pick up two wins in the meet with a total score of 249.165. The Falcons would split as they fell to the 10th ranked Lions, but earned a victory over Talladega with a 244.950. Talladega ended the night with a 176.980.
