Komara Adds Nick Bonifay to Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Men's Basketball Head Coach Anthony Komara has announced the hiring of Nick Bonifay as the Falcons' Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.

The Huntsville, Ala., native returns to his home state after a five-year collegiate career at Oklahoma City University where he played under Head Coach Mark Berokoff. In his time at Oklahoma City, Bonifay played in 97 games and recorded four starts. During the 2024-25 season, he totaled 53 points, 26 rebounds, 25 assists, and 12 steals, while averaging 11.2 minutes per game. Bonifay was named to the Sooner Athletic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, Academic All-SAC Team, SAC Scholar Athlete list, and NAIA Scholar-Athlete list.

Before his time at Oklahoma City, Bonifay attended St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville, Ala., where he lettered twice and was a three-time All-Area selection and a three-time team captain. Bonifay was also a member of the Alabama Celtics basketball team coached by Emmanuel Abercrombie.

Bonifay graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in May of 2025.

Bonifay will join Komara and fellow assistant coach Nick Fertitta on the Falcons' coaching staff for the start of the 2025-26 season in the fall.
