Montevallo to Host West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer continues its conference run when it hosts West Alabama and Alabama Huntsville on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

The Falcons enter the second week of Gulf South Conference action with a 3-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference play. Montevallo's 2025 league campaign opened with a 1-0 road win over Auburn Montgomery that snapped a two-game losing streak and a streak of 44 shots without a goal. UM followed up its first conference win with a dominant 4-0 win over Valdosta State on Saturday, Sept. 20 behind six points from Morgan Goehring who accounted for all four Falcon goals. Goehring is now tied for third in the GSC with three goals on the season while adding a league-high 22 shots. In the Falcons' win over VSU, freshman Ayla Ertekin tallied her first collegiate goal in route to a GSC Freshman of the Week honor. In the net, Jolie Cazale leads the team with 11 saves after a pair of starts while Ciarra Duff leads with a pair of clean sheets on the season.
 
West Alabama enters the weekend with a 3-1-2 overall and a 0-1-1 mark in GSC play. The Tigers began the 2025 conference season with a 0-0 tie against Trevecca Nazarene on Sept. 19 before falling to No. 13 Lee, 1-2, on Sept. 21. UWA has scored a total of seven goals on the year while allowing just two through six games. The Tigers' attack is led by Selis Demirci and Bailee Fairley who each have recorded a pair of goals with three other Tigers added a goal apiece. In the net, Yumari Hernandez has played every minute so far this season and has tallied five shutouts with a total of 21 saves and just two goals allowed.
 
UAH holds an overall record of 4-1-1 with a 2-0 mark in conference play after the first six games of the season. The Chargers took down No. 13 Lee, 2-0, on Sept. 19 to open the 2025 conference season before adding another 2-0 win over TNU on Sept. 21 for the third consecutive 2-0 shutout victory. Through six games, UAH has scored 11 goals on a total of 70 shots while allowing just four on 82 shots. Adrianna Rojas leads the Chargers with six points on three goals while Sabrina Da Silca and Katey Ann Klingel each one two apiece. In goal, CeCe Szopa leads the team with 28 saves and just three goals allowed on 71 shots for a pair of clean sheets.
