PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Montevallo women's basketball team closed the weekend with a, 93-68, loss to West Florida inside of UWF Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

Four Falcons reached double figures in Audrey Hendrix (18), Emily Mouser (14), Kylee Norman (13), and Elyse Hughes (10). Hendrix was solid from long range, going 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.

Hughes earned the first bucket of the game, cashing in on a lay-in in the opening minute. Hendrix began to catch fire from deep early, hitting a pair of triples in the next two minutes, as Montevallo led, 8-6, at the 7:33 mark. Hendrix added her third three-pointer and Hughes cashed in on a lay-in to put the Falcons ahead, 13-10, at the 4:58 mark. Emily Mouser added one more basket for UM, but the Argos would dominate the latter half of the quarter with a 16-2 run to take a, 26-15, advantage at the end of one.

Hendrix continued her solid start, knocking down her fourth triple to open the second quarter, but a pair of UWF buckets would put the Argos ahead, 32-18, at the 6:53 mark. Both teams traded baskets through the next four minutes, as UWF stretched its lead to 17 points, 42-25, with 2:45 left in the second quarter. The Falcons began to find a rhythm, as three consecutive baskets from Hughes, Mouser, and Julia Susla cut the deficit to, 42-31. The Argos hit one more free throw before the half to take a, 43-31, advantage into the break.

UWF opened the second half with a dominant 17-0 run to take a commanding, 60-31, lead. Mouser finally scored the first UM field goal of the third, connecting on a jumper at 4:15. Mouser and Kylee Norman hit a pair of buckets each, as the Argos held a, 69-42, advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Norman opened the fourth quarter strong, scoring eight points in the first minute and a half. Hendrix followed that up with her fifth triple of the day, as UWF led, 74-53, at the 7:57 mark. Mouser, Hendrix, Susla, and Alani Owens added points down the stretch, but the Argos ultimately took home the, 93-68, victory.
