MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball is set to host Trevecca Nazarene and Lee on Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, respectively.

The Falcons head into the two weekend matchups with an 11-6 overall record and a 7-4 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 3-2 record in nonconference action before falling to Lee in the conference opener on Dec. 4. Montevallo then kicked off a four-game win streak with a win over Trevecca Nazarene on the road before topping Delta State and Mississippi College in back-to-back home games. The Falcons capped its win streak with a 75-54 win over Christian Brothers on Dec. 18 before falling to Union, 67-63, on Dec. 20. The Falcons came back from the holiday break to open the second half of conference play with an 89-62 win over Auburn Montgomery before picking up a 71-68 win over UAH on Jan. 8. Montevallo then fell in back-to-back games for the first time this season with a loss to West Alabama on Jan. 10 before dropping a road meeting with Valdosta State on Jan. 15. Most recently, the Falcons picked up a 97-87 win over West Florida on the road on Jan. 17.
The Falcons offense is averaging 78.6 points per game on a 46.0-percent shooting mark while shooting 34.5 percent from deep and 74.5 percent from the line. Montevallo has recorded an average of 37.1 rebounds per game with an average of 9.5 offensive rebounds while dishing out a GSC second-best 15.88 assists per game. Defensively, Montevallo allows just 70.4 points per game for the second-lowest mark in the league with Falcon opponents shooting just 40.9-percent from the field and 33.3 percent from deep. On the glass, Montevallo allows 35.2 boards per game while forcing 14.6 turnovers per game on an average of 9.4 steals per game.
Individually,
Derek Moore leads the GSC with an average of 19.8 points per game on a league-best 64.4 percent from the field while shooting 83.2 percent from the stripe with an average of 6.8 rebounds per game for the seventh most among GSC leaders.
Brandon Fussell ranks second on the team with an average of 15.8 points per game on a 41.7-percent shooting mark while leading the conference with an average of 5.8 assists per game and ranking second with 2.0 steals. In his five games since returning from injury,
Jaylen Curry is scoring 10.2 points per game on a 44.4-percent shooting mark while adding 6.0 rebounds per game.
Trevecca Nazarene enters Thursday night's contest with a 12-5 overall record and a 7-4 mark in conference action after opening the season with a 5-1 record in nonconference action. The Trojans opened conference play with a win over AUM before falling to the Falcons, 90-60, on Dec. 6. TNU then added a road win over UAH before falling to West Alabama on Dec. 13. Trevecca closed first half of conference play with a home win over Valdosta State on Dec. 18 before falling to West Florida, 82-78, on Dec. 20. The Trojans returned from the holiday break with a 78-63 win over Lee in Nashville, Tenn. before falling to Delta State on Jan. 8. Trevecca is currently on a three-game win streak kicked off by a road win over Mississippi College on Jan. 10 before adding a Jan. 15
th win over Christian Brothers by a score of 89-76. Most recently, TNU defeated Union, 80-63, at home on Jan. 17.
Trevecca averages 82.8 points per game on a 45.1-percent shooting mark while shooting 34.9 percent from long range and 72.2 percent from the free throw line. On the boards, Trevecca is averaging 36.4 rebounds per game while posting an average of 10.5 offensive rebounds. The Trojans rank third in the GSC with an average of 15.35 assists per game with a 1.18 assist to turnover ratio. Defensively, Trevecca allows 75.2 points per game on an opponent field goal percentage of 43.2 percent. On the glass, Trevecca opponents are averaging 38.4 rebounds per game while forcing 15.3 turnovers per game with an average of 8.06 steals per game.
Trevecca is led by Jax Abernathy who averages 15.2 points per game on a 39.2-percent shooting mark while Fred Bailey ranks second on the squad with an average of 13.2 points per game while recording an average of 6.1 rebounds per game. Brett Wright ranks third on the squad with 12.1 points per game on a 45.0-percent shooting clip while shooting 45.5-percent from deep with 50 threes on the season. Da'Shon Fisher rounds out the Trojans' double-digit scorers with an average of 10.0 points per game on a team-high 53.4-percent shooting mark while adding 2.4 rebounds per game.
Lee heads into Saturday's meeting with an 8-7 overall record and a 5-6 mark in conference play after opening the season with a 4-1 mark in nonconference action before topping Montevallo to open the GSC slate. Lee went on to add an 81-73 win over AUM before falling in three straight outings against West Alabama, UAH and West Florida. Lee returned to the win column with an 87-83 win over Valdosta State on Dec. 20. The Flames opened the 2026 schedule with a road loss at Trevecca before falling to Mississippi College, 97-87, in overtime on Jan. 8. The Flames last loss came by the hand of Delta State in a 73-67 loss on Jan. 10 before Lee picked up an 83-74 win over Union on Jan. 15. Most recently, Lee topped Christian Brothers, 82-72, at home on Jan. 17.
Lee averages a total of 74.3 points per game on a 46.9-percent shooting mark while shooting 37.6 percent from deep and 73.1 percent from the stripe. The Flames are averaging 32.2 rebounds per game with an average of 8.3 offensive boards per game while adding an average of 15.00 assists per game. Defensively, Lee allows 75.0 points per game with opponents shooting 45.4 percent from the floor. Lee forces an average of 11.7 turnovers per game on a 6.53 steals per game average.
Tylon Chatman leads Lee's offense with an average of 13.8 points per game on a 44.7-percent shooting mark with 3.0 rebounds per game and 4.0 assists per game. Zach Gray follows closely behind with an average of 13.4 points per game on a 48.4-percent shooting clip with 3.7 rebounds per game. Ben Rtiger ranks third on the squad with 11.9 points per contest while shooting 50 percent from the floor with an average of 3.7 rebounds per game. Willie Walton leads the team on the glass with an average of 5.6 rebounds per game while scoring 9.7 points per game.
