Women's Basketball Set to Host Trevecca and Lee

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's basketball team is set to host a pair of games this week against Trevecca Nazarene (Jan. 22) and Lee (Jan. 24).

Montevallo holds an overall record of 3-13 and a 2-9 mark in GSC play. The Falcons dropped a pair of games last week, falling to Valdosta State and West Florida. Audrey Hendrix led the way on the week, averaging 16 points, while shooting 57.1-percent from beyond the arc.

On the season, Montevallo averages 55.6 points, while shooting 36.6-percent from the floor and 28.3-percent from distance. Emily Mouser leads the team in scoring (11.1 ppg), assists (53), and steals (18), while Elyse Hughes leads the way in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and field goal percentage (.457).

Trevecca holds an overall record of 10-6 and a 7-4 mark in GSC play. The Trojans picked up two wins last week, defeating Christian Brothers (67-48) and Union (70-61). The Trojans average 67.2 points, while shooting 41.5-percent from the floor and 29-percent from beyond the arc.

Cheyenne Trotter leads the way for Trevecca and leads the GSC in rebounding (10.6 rpg), while ranking sixth in scoring (14.7 ppg) and third in field goal percentage (.554). Jordan Gillies ranks second in the league in assists per game (4.1) and third in total blocks (21).

Lee enters the week with an 11-5 overall record and a 7-4 mark in GSC play. The Lady Flames picked up a pair of wins last week, defeating Union (79-66) and Christian Brothers (63-45). Lee averages 65.1 points, while shooting 39.5-percent from the floor and 28.5-percent from beyond the arc.

Anna Muhonen leads the way for the Lady Flames and leads the GSC in blocks (22), while ranking third in scoring (17.1 ppg), fourth in rebounding (8.2 rpg), and fifth in field goal percentage (.505). Libby Privett has a team leading-43 assists.

GAME NOTES

  • Montevallo and Trevecca have meet three times, with the Falcons holding a 2-1 advantage in the overall series.
  • The Trojans earned a, 76-57, victory in Nashville earlier this season.
  • Montevallo and Lee have met 17 times, with the Lady Flames holding an 11-6 advantage in the overall series.
