MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo women's basketball team opens the 2026 calendar year this weekend, hosting in-state foe, Auburn Montgomery on Sunday, Jan. 3.
Montevallo holds an overall record of 3-8 with a 2-4 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Falcons last saw action on Wednesday, falling in non-conference action to UT Southern. Against the FIrehawks, Elyse Hughes led the way with ten points.
On the season, Montevallo averages 55.5 points, while shooting 36.7-percent from the floor and 27.5-percent from long range. Hughes leads the team in scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg), while Emily Mouser holds a team leading-38 assists and Kylee Norman has a team leading-13 steals. Across the GSC, Mouser ranks fifth in assists per game and Hughes ranks tenth in rebounding.
AUM holds an overall record of 1-11 and a 1-5 mark in GSC play. Last time out, the Warhawks captured its first victory of the season, defeating Christian Brothers, 53-44, on Dec. 20.
On the season, AUM averages 53.9 points, while shooting 32.5-percent from the floor and 23.3-percent from distance. Tamora Brown leads the team in scoring (13.0 ppg – tenth in GSC), assists (15), and steals (22), while Nevaeh Small leads the team in rebounding (9.0 rpg – seventh in GSC).
