MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's volleyball team returns to Central State Bank Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for its Pack the SAC/Sea of Purple match against Gulf South Conference opponent Lee University. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Falcons (13-6, 6-3 GSC) enter Tuesday's contest riding a two-match winning streak after completing an unbeaten conference road weekend with victories over Valdosta State and Auburn Montgomery. Montevallo will look to extend its winning streak and complete the regular-season sweep of Lee after defeating the Flames in five sets earlier this season.

Tuesday's match begins a six-match homestand for the Falcons, who will play eight of their final 10 regular-season matches at Central State Bank Arena.

Montevallo is coming off a strong offensive performance in Saturday's 3-0 sweep of AUM, hitting .316 as a team while holding the Warhawks to a .106 hitting percentage.

Eliza Tyrrell led the Falcons with 18 kills on 30 attempts, hitting .433 in the victory. Tyrrell was particularly effective in the opening set, recording 10 kills without an error on 12 attempts for an .833 hitting percentage. She also added a service ace, three digs and a block assist.

SCOUTING LEE
Lee enters Tuesday's matchup at 8-8 overall and 4-5 in GSC play after suffering consecutive five-set road losses to Mississippi Christian and West Alabama.

The Flames most recently fell to GSC-leading West Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 10, in a five-set contest. Lee dropped the opening set 25-21 before answering with a 25-22 victory in the second. After West Alabama claimed the third set 25-9, the Flames forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-20 victory before falling 15-12.

Esthefany Rabit led Lee with 17 kills on 34 attempts, hitting .471 while adding nine total blocks, including three solo blocks.

Against Mississippi Christian on Friday, Lee received 12 kills from Rabit and 10 from Olivia Reevey, while Gunny Brock contributed eight kills and 19 digs in another five-set defeat.

The Flames have played three five-set matches in their last four outings and hold a 1-6 record in five-set contests this season.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Montevallo and Lee previously met on Sept. 22 in Cleveland, Tennessee, where the Falcons earned a 3-2 victory to improve to 3-0 in GSC play.

The Falcons claimed the opening set 25-19 before Lee answered with a 25-22 victory in the second. Montevallo regained the advantage with a 25-19 third-set win, but the Flames forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-17 victory in the fourth.

With the final set tied at 12-12, Mallory Hulsey delivered a kill to give Montevallo the lead before Kate Wilkin recorded back-to-back kills to secure the 15-12 victory.
