HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball went on the road to Alabama Huntsville and came home with an 84-60 win over the Chargers.
The Falcons opened the game on a 7-0 run in the first four minutes before
Devon McKinnon knocked down a three with 14:10 on the clock to give Montevallo a 12-5 lead early. The Falcons then knocked down three straight triples from
Derek Moore,
Brandon Fussell and McKinnon to stretch the lead out to 11 with 13:03 left in the first. UAH cut the Falcons' lead down to 23-18 at the 9:30 mark before
Jaylen Curry knocked down a three to push the lead back to eight. Just after the under-four media timeout, UAH used four free throws to tie the game at 31-31. Montevallo used a quick 4-0 run in the final two minutes of the first half to take a 35-31 lead into the locker room.
Out of the half, Montevallo went on a 16-0 run in the first five minutes with a total of four triples to take a 51-31 lead at the 15:26 mark. UAH finally ended the run before
Bryant James nailed a three to give UM a 21-point advantage. The Falcons kept the lead around 20 points for the next five minutes before Fussell scored five-straight points to give Montevallo a 67-41 lead at the 8:27 mark. Just four minutes later, Montevallo took its largest lead of the day at 75-45 with a trip to the line from Curry. UAH looked to spark a comeback but the Falcons answered each trip down the floor to take a 24-point win over the Chargers on the road.

- The Falcons dominated inside with 30 points in the paint while holding UAH to just 18 points inside.
- Montevallo recorded a total of 18 assists while giving away just nine turnovers.
- Brandon Fussell lead Montevallo with 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting while adding a game-high eight assists.
- Bryant James posted 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting and 6-of-8 from deep while adding six boards and three assists.
- Jaylen Curry finished with 15 points while adding five boards with Derek Moore scoring 13 points with six rebounds.
