LEBANON, Ill. – Montevallo volleyball opened the 2026 season with a 1-1 record after the first day of the McKendree Invitational with a win over Ouachita Baptist and a loss to Harding.
GAME ONE RECAP
The Falcons' first outing of the day saw Montevallo take a 3-0 sweep over Ouachita Baptist by scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-23.
Mallory Hulsey highlighted Montevallo's offense in the first set with six kills while, defensively,
Ava Wind compiled five digs in the first set of the season. The second set once again saw Hulsey lead the charge with another six kills while setter
Lily Erdal posted a total of eight assists. Hulsey's spectacular start to the season culminated with seven kills to win set three while Wind found another five digs to go along with eight more assists from Erdal.

GAME ONE NOTES
- Mallory Hulsey led Montevallo with 19 kills in the season opener on a .515 hitting percentage while adding a block assist for 19.5 points.
- Ava Wind tallied a team-high 15 digs in the first game to go along with three assists.
- Lily Erdal posted a total of 25 assists on the day with a trio of aces for a game high.
- Friday marked the first time Montevallo has won its season opener since the start of the 2022 season.
GAME TWO RECAP
Montevallo dropped the second game of the day by a score of 3-0 to Harding with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-19. Hulsey led Montevallo's attack in the first set with six kills on a .200 hitting percentage while
Blakeley Robbins and Erdal each added five assists. Set two featured just three kills from Hulsey while Robbins and Erdal tallied another five assists. The third and final set of game two saw a game-high eight digs from Wind while Robbins set a game-high with eight assists.
