CLEVELAND, Miss. – Montevallo men's soccer went on the road and picked up a 2-0 win over Delta State behind a pair of first half goals.
After
Andre Etcheverry made is first of three saves early,
Nolan Peffer opened the scoring in the fourth minute with his second goal of the season to give Montevallo a 1-0 lead. Etcheverry added another save just a few minutes later before
Joaquin Wladdimiro pushed Montevallo's advantage out to 2-0 in the 21
st minute with his fifth goal of the season. The two sides traded possession for the final 25 minutes of the half to head into the break with Montevallo leading by two.
Montevallo came out of the half with its foot on the gas firing four shots in the first 15 minutes with
Santiago Matchain and
Juan Diego Alfaro each adding a shot on goal.
Alex Mueller looked to stretch the Falcons' lead in the 76
th minute but was turned aside. Wladdimiro closed the game with another pair of shots on target but couldn't beat the keeper giving Montevallo its 2-0 win over Delta State.

- Nolan Peffer and Joaquin Wladdimiro tallied the goals for Montevallo with a pair of shots coming from Peffer and five off the foot of Wladdimiro.
- Dakota Hart and Lucas Atria provided the assists for Montevallo with Atria adding a shot on goal.
- Andre Etcheverry tallied his second clean sheet of the season with three saves on eight shots faced in 90 minutes of action.
