Gino Cozzi joins the Montevallo Baseball coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season as the program's Volunteer Assistant.
A two-time Second Team All-GSC selection, Cozzi makes the move from player to coach in 2026 after finishing a standout four-year career for the Falcons. He immediately made an impact upon arriving in Montevallo in 2022, logging a team-high 77.2 innings in 15 appearances (14 starts) on the mound.
Cozzi was a mainstay in the weekend rotation across his final two seasons, tallying 28 starts to help anchor the Falcons’ pitching staff. He concluded his playing career with the second-most games started on the mound in program history with 45, third-most innings pitched with 223.2, and fourth-most pitching wins with 17.
