PREVIOUS SEASON...Nixon was a key reserve outfielder for the Blazers while playing in 26 games as a sophomore, including 10 starts for UAB. He collected eight hits, two doubles, six RBI, four walks and two stolen bases.
As a freshman at UAB, he played in 51 games with 33 starts, primarily as the team's designated hitter. Nixon posted a .254 batting after collecting 34 hits and scoring 15 runs including five doubles and nine RBIs. Nixon had his best game of the season in UAB's 5-3 win over eventual C-USA Champions No. 18 Southern Mississippi, when he hit for the cycle (4-for-5, one run), just the third player in UAB history to do so. Nixon also had a strong game in the Blazers 8-0 victory over No. 22 Alabama, batting 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
HIGH SCHOOL...Nixon played four seasons at Marbury HS and holds the team records for or batting average, runs, stolen bases, and RBIs with a .458 batting average as a junior to go along with 31 runs, 27 RBI, and 17 stolen bases.
Nixon also had experience playing multiple positions in high school including a 6-3 record on the mound in 2014 with a 2.48 earned run average. He was named All-Metro Player of the Year and earned 5A All-State Honors. Nixon was also named to the All-State Honorable Mention team as a freshman.
