2023 (JUNIOR): Alex played in 96 sets in 28 matches while she started the fifth most matches for the Falcons with 21. Koontz had the third most kills for the Falcons and set a career-high of kills in a season with 194. She also set career-high's in hit percentage (.130), servcie aces (13) and total blocks (27.0). Koontz also added 152 digs and five assists.

PREVIOUS SCHOOL: Minot State University
Koontz totaled 333 kills and averaged 1.97 kills per set through 54 matches played. Alex her collegiate career in the COVID-shortened spring 2021 season where she played in just one match before playing in 26 matches in 2021 and 27 in 2022. Koontz led Minot State in multiple categories in 2022, including kills (170), kills per set (2.02), points (191.5), and points per set (2.28). She added 162 digs, 1.93 digs per set, and 20 total blocks. At Minot State, Koontz earned All-Conference Fr-Jr, 2nd Team All-Area Soph-Jr year, Regional Title Sophomore year. 

HIGH SCHOOL:
At Earlville High School, Koontz was named an All-Conference selection four time and was a Second-Team All-Area honoree as a Sophomore and Junior. She helped lead Earlville to a regional title as a Sophomore.
