Haven O’Quinn enters her fourth season as head coach of the Montevallo volleyball program in 2026.
O’Quinn was named the eighth head coach in program history by Director of Athletics Mark Richard on February 14, 2023.
“We are excited to bring Coach O’Quinn on board and welcome her to our Montevallo family,” Richard said at the time. “She has had tremendous success throughout her coaching career at different levels, and we are looking forward to what she can do in the Purple and Gold.”
Under O’Quinn’s leadership, the Falcons saw their best success in 2025 in which Montevallo recorded 15 victories, including 11 conference wins, the program’s highest total since 2018. Middle blocker Danielle Greene earned First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors, while libero Ava Wind was named Second Team All-GSC. Greene also collected D2CCA All-South Region First Team recognition, AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors, and AVCA All-South Region accolades after setting a program NCAA Division II-era record with 170 total blocks. The Falcons also earned a signature top-25 victory, defeating No. 16 West Florida on November 1.
In 2024, O’Quinn guided Montevallo to its second consecutive Gulf South Conference Tournament appearance. Three freshmen combined for five GSC weekly honors, highlighted by outside hitter Nikol Antova, who was named GSC Freshman of the Year. The Falcons also secured a landmark win over No. 22 Augusta on September 20, the program’s first top-25 victory since 2003.
O’Quinn’s debut season in 2023 saw Montevallo finish 13-18 overall and 10-6 in GSC play to earn the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye in the conference tournament. The Falcons advanced to the semifinals after rallying from a two-set deficit to defeat Valdosta State in the quarterfinals. Middle blocker Allie Dishman capped the season with First Team All-GSC recognition.
O’Quinn arrived in Montevallo after a highly successful six-year tenure at Birmingham-Southern College, where she compiled a 117–44 record and guided the Panthers to six consecutive Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament Finals appearances and three NCAA Division III Tournament berths. Her 2019 squad captured the SAA regular-season championship, and she was named SAA Coach of the Year. During her time at BSC, her teams produced five All-Americans, eight all-region selections, and 24 all-conference honorees, while also earning six consecutive AVCA Team Academic Awards.
Prior to her collegiate coaching career, O’Quinn built Mountain Brook High School into one of Alabama’s premier programs, leading the Spartans to three consecutive Class 7A state championships (2014-16), including the program’s first title in 2014. She also held coaching roles at Pelham High School and with multiple club programs.
A native of Daphne, Alabama, O’Quinn played collegiately at Troy University, where she became one of only three players in program history to record at least 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.
