Lauren Markle will return for her fourth seasonof on-court competition with the Falcons. She will compete forplaying time as a middle hitter.
2008: Appeared in 60 games... averaged 1.62kills per games... best match of the season was against Palm BeachAtlantic where she recorded a season high 9 kills hitting .368...helped Montevallo to upset Arkansas Tech in the first round of theGulf South Conference Volleyball Championship.
2007: Appeared in 16 matches... averaged 2.31kills and .69 blocks per game... posted double figures in fourmatches, including a season-best 16 against Arkansas-Monticello...also had seven blocks (one solo) against West Georgia... named tothe All-Tournament Team at the Arkansas-Monticello Invitational...one of 11 Falcons named to the Gulf South Conference HonorRoll.
2006: Did not compete due to injury.
2005: Appeared in 35 matches... averaged 1.88kills and .77 blocks per game... fourth on team in kills... doublefigures in kills in eight matches, including a season-best 14against Ouachita Baptist... had seven blocks (two solo, fiveassist) against Ouachita Baptist and (one solo, six assist) againstMartin Methodist.
High School: A two-time Mid State 6All-Conference selection and led the conference in blocks at PeoriaNotre Dame High School... her team was the Mid State 6Conference Champions.
Personal: Also competed for the SportsPerformance Illini Elite Volleyball club of Bloomington... finishedthird at the Asics Junior National Championship in Chicago in2005... earned the Student Athlete of the Week award and was amember of the National Honor Society... involved with CampusOutreach, Sigma Alpha Pi and Alpha Lambda Delta on campus, andcoaches for Alabama Juniors as well... a management major at UMwith a minor in management information systems, she is thedaughter of Ann Marie and Randy Markle.
