MONTEVALLO, Ala. - University of Montevallo
head baseball coach John Jarnagin announced the
first signing of 2010-11 recruiting class, Jeremy
Boyte an infielder/pitcher from Gulf Coast Community
College in Panama City, Florida. Boyte will join the Falcons as a
junior in the Fall on 2010.
"We are very excited for Jeremy to join our program," said coach
Jarnagin. "He's a great dual player and can play anywhere in the
infield. He's also an outstanding student and shows great character
on and off the field. He comes from strong high school and junior
college programs. Coach (Jeff) Smith did an outstanding job
recruiting him and Jeremy is a great start for the recruiting class
of 2010-11."
Boyte posted a .323 batting average with two home runs, 10
doubles and 35 RBI offensively for GCCC last season. On the mound
he recorded one win and one save in 13 innings pitched while only
walking three. His opponent's batting average was a mere .196.
He comes from the same community college program as current
Montevallo senior Kevin Garcia (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico/Gulf
Coast C.C.).
Boyte is a graduate of Russell County High School in Phenix
City, Ala.
