MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo junior Jacquelyn Thompson led the Falcons with a game-high 15 points in a 74-53 setback against visiting Spring Hill College in their final non-conference game of the season Dec. 13 at Trustmark Arena.
Thompson finished 6-of-12 from the floor, including 2-of-7 from beyond the arc against the Badgers, who shot 50 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc.
Junior Katherine Goldsby, who shot 5-of-12 from the field, added 10 points for the Falcons, who dropped to 1-6 overall.
Junior Jasmine Thomas contributed eight points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench. Senior Carrington Caise and junior Katie Colson also dished out three assists each.
Sophomore Ellie Mouyal grabbed a team-best six rebounds.
Elissa VandeWaa led Spring Hill (2-3) with 14 points.
The Falcons will return to action Thursday, Dec. 18 on the road at Francis Marion University in their Peach Belt Conference opener in Florence, S.C.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 Eastern/4:30 Central.
