HOW IT HAPPENED
Montevallo clinched its 20th victory of the season with the sweep of UNC Pembroke, marking the third consecutive season the Falcons have reached the 20-win plateau.
The Falcons raced out to a 8-2 advantage in the opening set with a pair of kills by sophomore Kristy Bohan early in the frame. Montevallo ended the frame with a 8-0 run to clinch a 25-14 win in the set, with Bohan capping the set with back-to-back service aces.
Bohan provided three kills as the Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the second set. Montevallo used a 6-1 run midway through the frame, capped with a kill by senior Rebekah Phelps, to provide a cushion down the stretch in a 25-21 win in the second set.
UNC Pembroke kept the margin close early in the third frame before a 10-4 run by Montevallo midway through the set allowed the Falcons to coast to a 25-16 win in the final set. The Falcons ended the match with a 7-2 run to clinch the victory.
STAT OF THE GAME
Sophomore Breana Thomas finished with a career-high .625 hitting percentage while recording five kills in the Falcons' victory.
BEYOND THE NUMBERS
Sophomore Kristy Bohan finished with a career-high four service aces in the 3-0 sweep of the Braves. Bohan has registered seven service aces in the past two matches for the Falcons.
With the victory, Montevallo has won four consecutive matches against UNC Pembroke in its final Peach Belt Conference contest in each of the past four seasons.

The Falcons will begin postseason play in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with a quarterfinal match Tuesday, Nov. 17. Montevallo will host Lander University in the quarterfinal match at Trustmark Arena.
