HOW IT HAPPENED

The Badgers jumped ahead of the Falcons early in the first period by opening the game on a 7-2 run. That lead was short lived as the Falcons fought back against the Badgers early offensive push and finished the first period only trailing 16-11.

However, the second period belonged to the Falcons. In the final ten minutes of the first half the Falcons out scored the Badgers by 14 points to take a 34-25 lead into the locker room.

The Falcons' defense held the Badgers to only nine points in the final ten minutes of the half.

Katherine Goldsby led the Falcons in the first half with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting. RayVon Christian also added seven more points, going 2-for-2 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

The Falcons came out of the locker room and continued where they had left off. In the third period the Falcons' defense again held the Badgers to 12 points as their offense began to find it's rhythm. A 12-2 run capped off the third period as the Falcons pushed their lead to 54-37.

The fourth period was a back and forth affair as each team countered the others attacks. The Falcons were able to push the lead to 18 at the 2:39 mark before Spring Hill cut the lead to 14 in the game's final minutes.

The 65-51 decision was the first double-digit victory this season by the Falcons.

In the second half the Falcons were led by Jacquelyn Thompson who had 13 points in the half and went 3-for-4 from three point range. Christian added nine points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field.

STAT OF THE DAY

The Falcons had two players score in double figures. Thompson ended the day with a team high 18 points and Christian added another 16 points.

As a team the Falcon's shot 44.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from behind the three point line. From the free throw line the Falcons shot 66.7%, their second highest percentage this season.

On the defensive side of the ball Goldsby grabbed a team high 11 rebounds for the Falcons and also led the team in steals with four. As a team the Falcons stole the ball 11 times.

The Falcons will now prepare for Peach Belt Conference play. On Dec. 17 the Falcons will open up against Francis Marion at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
