MORROW, Ga. – University of Montevallo junior Jacquelyn Thompson scored a team-high 18 points in the Falcons' 76-58 loss on the road at Clayton State University in a Peach Belt Conference contest Feb. 14.
Thompson finished 7-of-11 from the floor against the Lakers, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Thompson also grabbed five rebounds.
Senior Carrington Caise added 10 points for the Falcons, who dropped to 1-22 overall and 0-16 in Peach Belt Conference play.
Senior Katherine Goldsby and junior Jasmine Newsome contributed seven points each. Junior Katie Colson finished with six points and a team-best six rebounds.
The Falcons, who trailed 40-20 at halftime, outscored Clayton State 38-36 in the second half.
Montevallo returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 18 against Columbus State University in its Play 4 Kay game, benefitting breast cancer research.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Trustmark Arena.
