MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team ended its season with a 67-44 loss to visiting Young Harris College in its final Peach Belt Conference contest Feb. 25.
Junior Katherine Goldsby led the Falcons (1-25 overall, 0-19 in Peach Belt Conference) with 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 shooting at the charity stripe. Goldsby also registered a game-high six steals.
Senior Carrington Caise, who was honored following the game as the Falcons' lone senior on Senior Night, added eight points. Junior Jaquelyn Thompson and freshman Andrea Petrovic finished with six points each.
Young Harris outrebounded the Falcons 52-29 in the game.
The Falcons jumped out to a 10-6 lead in the early stages of the game before 14-2 run by Young Harris gave the Mountain Lions a commanding 20-12 lead with 8:58 remaining in the half. The run was capped with a jumper by Shaquaya Daniels.
Young Harris led 38-22 at halftime and kept a double-digit lead throughout the second half.
The contest marked the final game in Purple and Gold for Caise, who finished as the Falcons' third-leading scorer this season with an average of 7.9 points per game while leading the team with an average of 4.2 assists per game.
