Three Falcons named to PBC Basketball All-Academic Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference released the men's and women's basketball All-Academic team from the conference office in Augusta. The teams are part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

Montevallo had three representatives on the teams.

For the men, Ryan May was selected to the team. May is a senior from Fayetteville, North Carolina and has started every game this year for the Falcons. He currently ranks seventh in conference in three-point percentage and is tied for eighth in made three-pointers. May is a health promotion major and has a 3.39 GPA.

For the women, both Katie Colson and Jacquelyn Thompson were named to the team. Colson is a junior from Madison, Alabama and has started every game for the Falcons this season. She is a biology major and has a 3.9 GPA.

Thompson, a Huntsville, Alabama native, has started every game she's appeared in for the Falcons this season and is Montevallo's leading scorer. She is currently second in the conference in made three-pointers and is sixth in three-point percentage. Thompson is a biology major and holds a 3.38 GPA.
