How It Happened

The Falcons got behind early as the Nighthawks opened the game on a 14-0 run. Montevallo finally got on the board off of an Ashley Dunstan layup but the Falcons' offense continued to struggle. The Nighthawks finished the first period on a 9-0 run and led at the end of the first period, 27-4.

In the second period the Falcons started to get their offense going and went on a 7-2 run. However, the Nighthawks kept pushing on the offensive side of the ball and ended the half with a 43-18 lead.

The second half belonged to the Falcons as they opened the third period on a 15-0 run. It started on a three pointer from Morgan Smith and a tenacious full court defense by the Falcons. The Falcons were able to cut the lead to 12 points before the Nighthawks scored their first bucket of the half at the 5:05 minute mark. The Nighthawks pushed the lead back to 17 points at the end of the period.

The Falcons cut the lead down to 11 points early in the fourth period, as the Falcons' offense appeared to have found its rhythm. No matter how hard the Nighthawks tried to put the game away the Falcons kept fighting. Montevallo was able to pull within single digits late in the period when a layup by Katherine Goldsby cut the Nighthawks lead to 70-61. The Falcons' rally came up short as North Georgia claimed the 73-61 victory.

Stat of the Game
